The type of visa you apply for will depend on the reason you are going to the UK and what you plan to do while in the UK. A wide range of guidance for all UK visa routes is provided upon consultation, navigate below page for our contact information.

How do I know which visa category to apply for?

We recommend that you begin working on your application 90 days before your intended date of arrival in the UK. Please note that a visit visa can be post dated for up to 3 months to accommodate your intended travel date, so why wait? Apply early to beat the queues and avoid unnecessary inconvenience this summer!

When should I start my visa application process?

The United Kingdom is one of the most accommodating countries for
international students in terms of level of education, fees and culture. It is note worthy that the UK has the most highly sought after degrees in the world (with top universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and London School of Economics), therefore once you complete your degree you will be globally employable. Studying in the UK is a straightforward process and below is an overview of the steps:

  • Decide your career path. Choose course of study. Research best suitedUniversity based on budget, preferred location and other personal factors. UK university information can be accessed on British Council.org.

  • Contact chosen University. Collate required documents. Apply for course of study. Accept Offer of Admission. Ensure your funding is available.

  • Collate required Tier 4 Student Visa application documents. Lodge Visa application. Visa granted. Arrange UK accommodation.

  • Plan your travel to the UK.

Please note that Student Visas are granted up to one month before the start date of your course or seven days before your intended travel date as confirmed on your visa application.

How can I study in the United Kingdom?

Students

A key eligibility requirement under Appendix FM of the immigration rules is that “any previous relationship must be permanently broken down”. Thus, where applicable, any divorce certificates (decree absolute and NOT decree nissi) must be provided to meet this requirement.

My spouse was previously married; what will I need to include with my application?

Eligibility for settlement is either under the five year or ten year route. However, your first spouse visa is granted for 30 months (additional three months for entry clearance). Prior to expiration of the visa you must extend for a further 30 months, until you complete five or ten years. Upon completion you may apply for indefinite leave to remain (ILR). Once granted ILR, you can immediately naturalise as a British citizen.

If my application is successful, how long is the visa and when will I get my British passport?

British Spouse/Partner Visa

  • Graduate visa 

    • Foreign students can apply for Graduate visa, and stay up to two years, and doctoral students are allowed to stay up to one year after completing their studies.

  • UK Job Offer:

    • Students with a job offer can apply for the Skilled Worker visa which allows them to work under the visa category for up to 5 years. Upon completion of this period, you become eligible to apply for indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom.   

  • Business Investment:  

    • Those with a viable an innovative, viable and scalable business idea which is supported by an endorsing body can apply under the Start-up or Innovator visa categories if they have the relevant business investment funds.

  • Family member: 

    • Under this option, a Student may apply as the family member of a person present and settled in the United Kingdom, or as the Dependent family of the holder of a valid UK visa. They must however meet the requirements of the immigration rules for whichever visa category they wish to apply under.
